Checklist to evaluate the quality of your website
Accessibility
1. Are the content structurally separate elements of navigation?
2. Is the site compatible with all browsers?
3. Is it compatible with the coding standards W3C? Is it valid HTML / CSS?
4. Alt tags are in place on all important images?
5. Alternative text being put in place to transmit vital information in images and multimedia files?
Navigation
1. The text visible on the links provides a clear indication of where they lead?
2. Depth - what is the maximum number of clicks it takes to reach a page in the depths of the site?
3. Responsiveness to click - is this a response is given immediately (0.1 seconds) after a click is made on a hyper link?
4. Is it intuitive to navigate? Are there any links or buttons understood as text, which are not click able?
5. Readability (already discussed somewhat): the type and size of fonts used.
6. THE GOAL of the site is clearly identifiable? The objective should become clear within a few seconds without need to read a lot.
7. A call to action on each page, not dead.
Design
1. Is the design of the site is aesthetically attractive?
2. The colors used are they harmonious and logically linked?
3. Is the choice of colors are visually accessible? (For example have a fairly high contrast to help color blind and partially sighted people to read the site appropriately)
4. Is the design is adapted to your audience The standard size of the text should be legible, for visitors who do not know how to adjust their browser.
5. The policies must be easily legible and degraded with elegance. This should give good results with various screen resolutions.
Content
1. Whether your website subject is brief and informative as well?
2. Is the writing style of the site is suitable for the purpose and "speaks" the target audience?
3. The body of texts is limited to less than 80 characters per line?
4. The contrast between the text and background color is it enough to make reading easy?
5. In the articles, there should be links to more detailed explanations on specific issues or definitions of terms jargon. Do you do that?
6. Have you about page identifying the author of content or credits to the source for articles that were not written by the site owner himself?
Security
1. No obvious security hole?
2. Your forms are resistant to the special characters?
3. Your private directories are protected by passwords via the file. Htaccess?
4. Whether the public directories (cgi-bin, images, etc.) are indexed or do you have in place permission settings to block access?
5. The customer data are stored online, if so, this database is adequately defended it against external access?
Other technical considerations
1. Does the site load quickly - even for users with a modem?
2. Are all the links (internal and external) are valid and active?
3. The scripts are free of errors?
4. Is the site free of errors on the server side?

1. The site is properly optimized for search engines (essential text stressed, title tags relevant, as the text presented to H1, reliable and outgoing links contextually linked, etc.)?
2. Is the home page encourages visitors to go further in the site or to the basket?

Cuil - The World's Biggest Search Engine
Cuil (pronounced [kuːl], "cool") is a search engine that organizes web pages by content and displays relatively long entries along with thumbnail pictures for many results. It claims to have a larger index than any other search engine, with about 120 billion web pages. It went live on July 28, 2008.[1][2]
Unlike other search engines,[3] Cuil's privacy policy states that it does not store records of users’ search activity or IP addresses.[4]
Cuil is managed and developed largely by former employees of Google: Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier.[5] Another founder, Tom Costello, has worked for IBM and others.[6] The company raised $33 million in venture capital from Greylock and others.[7]

Numerical Figures at Google Keyword Suggestion Tool
Google provides a free tool for webmasters to calculate the search engine trends for the keywords you search. This is indeed a great tool for the Search Engine Optimizers and persons related to Internet Marketing.
However, the result shown previously were represented as green bars which was difficult enough to get a clear idea about the search volume. On July 8th, Google replaced these green bars with approx search figures which turns the tool much more uselful. Part of Google's Continuous Innovation Activities Indeed!!

Google doesn't guarantee that these keyword search results will improve your campaign performance in adsense or adwords but you can use it in order to have a rough understanding of the search trends.

Why Wikipedia result is coming in most of the cases in Google SERP
All of us have seen that Wikipedia result is coming on the top whenever you are searching for some thing however competitive the key phrase is. Wikipedia.org is a multilingual, Web-based, free content encyclopedia project. Wikipedia is written collaboratively by volunteers from all around the world. The possible reason for their top position is
1. Is there any tie up between Google and wiki and Google has taken the responsibility to promote wiki?
2. Are they well optimized their page for SEO?
Content is the king, and wiki is on the head of the content. Wiki has well reached with semantically related content; they have good number back link from its own domain. Suppose you are searching for “hotel” in wiki, probably you will get a url in the top of serp like “en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel”. It seems they are naturally optimized for SEO as they have hotel in their url. Wikipedia's articles provide links to guide the user to related pages with additional information. Also it has a good number of back links from pages like “en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_Chelsea”. These are the quality natural, content rich back links, which Google considers the most.
One of the interesting thing I found is if I am going for a single phrase word, I found wiki at the top but if I am adding another word to it or going for long term key phrase it’s coming down. Still not clear about the concept of Google. if any one having any additions to the above please comment it here, suggestions, feedbacks all are well come…… J

How Google defines IP delivery, geolocation, and cloaking
Geolocation: Serving targeted/different content to users based on their location. As a webmaster, you may be able to determine a user's location from preferences you've stored in their cookie, information pertaining to their login, or their IP address. For example, if your site is about baseball, you may use geolocation techniques to highlight the Yankees to your users in New York.
The key is to treat Googlebot as you would a typical user from a similar location, IP range, etc. (i.e. don't treat Googlebot as if it came from its own separate country—that's cloaking).
IP delivery: Serving targeted/different content to users based on their IP address, often because the IP address provides geographic information. Because IP delivery can be viewed as a specific type of geolocation, similar rules apply. Googlebot should see the same content a typical user from the same IP address would see.
Cloaking: Serving different content to users than to Googlebot. This is a violation of our webmaster guidelines. If the file that Googlebot sees is not identical to the file that a typical user sees, then you're in a high-risk category. A program such as md5sum or diff can compute a hash to verify that two different files are identical.
First click free: Implementing Google News' First click free policy for your content allows you to include your premium or subscription-based content in Google's websearch index without violating our quality guidelines. You allow all users who find your page using Google search to see the full text of the document, even if they have not registered or subscribed. The user's first click to your content area is free. However, you can block the user with a login or payment request when he clicks away from that page to another section of your site.
